We have experience in covering a wide range of events from your public performance at a Gala all the way through to music festivals calling in at parades, presentation evenings, award ceremonies and birthday celebrations along the way.

No matter what your event we make sure we capture the key moments as well as the little details.  Some examples of our event work can be seen below.

Whitwell Festival of Music

The music festival is a three day event in the Derbyshire village of Whitwell that demands a wide variety of skills as there are indoor stages and outdoor and like most festivals it starts in the daylight and ends in the darkness.

We’ve photographed the festival since 2014, providing the images to the festival organisers and to the artists themselves for their own uses such as promotional posters, social media and album covers so there’s a wide variety of processing techniques used to provide images that suit the artists styles and capture the mood.

No festival is complete without the festival folk though and you’ve almost got to have eyes in the back of your head to make sure you capture the big moments on stage as well as all the action in the crowd, no matter how bizarre it might be!

“We have used Ilumia to photograph Whitwell Festival of Music for three years and have found them to work tirelessly to provide top quality photographs, and fully intend to keep using their services. We would highly recommend them to any individual or organisation ”
Worksop Junior Snooker Academy
“This year we needed someone to take photos on their annual presentation night.  Karl from Ilumia was recommended to us by one of the parents and we are very thankful that he was. No words can describe just how good he was, the effort and time put in was exceptional and he was really the most unsung hero on the night.  The quality of his photos is excellent and the feedback from everyone was just fantastic.  By far the best photographer we have had on our presentation nights, we can highly recommend Ilumia for anything to do with photography.”

The Junior Snooker Academy is based at North Notts. Arena in Worksop and is run by volunteers.  Each year they hold a presentation and awards evening to celebrate the success and progress of their members, with the evening hosted by a professional player; This year, former world champion Ken Doherty.

The event can only take place with the aid of their sponsors and the events on the night where frames against the pro are auctioned off.  With this in mind it was important that we make sure the sponsors were prominent within the photos as well as covering the all important action at the table and the presentation of the individual awards.

The venue required us to use a mix of studio flash as well as battery powered off-camera flash to be able to cover all the angles due to the limited space around parts of the snooker table combined with the limited light from the single over table light.

After the event the images were uploaded in to our password protected customer portal so that parents could purchase photos of the night in a range of sizes.  As part of our service the club received a percentage of the sales price back to help them raise much needed funds.

Battle Heritage, Northern Wolves

The Northern Wolves are a team that compete as part of Battle Heritage in full contact medieval fighting in the UK and abroad; This isn’t a carefully choreographed routine, this is real action with quick changes in pace and tempo.

We photographed the Northern Wolves at a fully contact display they were performing at as part of a village gala.  The images are a mix of action shots, detail shots and showing off their lighter side with audience participation, perfect for their intended promotional uses.
